The Xiamen “Yujian 77” is a 49‑meter catamaran pure electric passenger ship and holds the title of China’s first pure electric seagoing passenger ship to enter commercial operation, as well as the first pure electric ship classed by China Classification Society (CCS). Powered by CATL‘s marine battery system with CTP technology and a total energy capacity of 3,918 kWh, the vessel achieves a pure electric range of up to 100 km. The battery system, rated IP68, has obtained type approvals from CCS, BV, ABS, and DNV. “Yujian 77” is also China’s first tourism vessel to complete onshore integrated commissioning, significantly reducing sea trial time. Operating along the Xiamen coastline, it is projected to save nearly 250 tons of fuel and cut CO₂ emissions by over 400 tons annually.

With a passenger capacity of 358 and a maximum speed of 11 knots, the vessel serves as a highly replicable “coastal model” for the global electrification of passenger ships.
