The "Fugang Tug 31" is the first pure electric smart tugboat at Fuzhou Port, serving as a pioneering model for the green and intelligent development of inland vessels in Fujian Province and marking a key breakthrough in the port's transition from conventional to clean energy for its working vessels. The vessel features a range-extended design, powered by a 3,920 kWh LFP battery pack paired with a 900 kW backup generator, enabling flexible switching among pure electric, charge-sustaining, and long-range operating modes. In pure electric mode, the tug achieves zero carbon emissions, zero pollution, and low noise, with an energy cost reduction of approximately 66% compared to conventional tugs of equivalent horsepower and an annual saving of more than RMB 1 million in fuel and maintenance expenses.

The "Fugang Tug 31" has obtained multiple additional class notations including intelligent energy efficiency, intelligent machinery space, intelligent integrated platform, and green ecology granted by the China Classification Society (CCS). CAEV served as the system integrator for the tug's electric propulsion system and battery system and participated in the keel-laying, launching, and delivery ceremonies. The successful commissioning and operation of this vessel provides a replicable and scalable model for the green transformation of port operations in Fujian Province and across China.
