“Xiamen Tug 31” and “Xiamen Tug 32” are 5,000 HP pure battery-powered tugboats, with “Xiamen Tug 31” recognized as Fujian Province's first pure electric tugboat. Together with earlier hybrid tug “Xiamen Tug 30” and later sister tugs, they form China's largest new‑energy tug fleet, cutting annual carbon emissions by over 3,000 tonnes — equivalent to planting approximately 140,000 trees. “Xiamen Tug 31” alone reduces CO₂ emissions by about 637 tonnes and CO emissions by 5 tonnes each year. Both vessels are powered by CATL's 7,316 kWh high‑safety LFP battery system and two 1,860 kW permanent‑magnet motors, achieving a 6–8 hour endurance at full charge. The 2 MW shore‑side fast charging system enables a full recharge in just 3 hours. The tugs also incorporate China's first “single‑screen” bridge design with voice‑controlled operation, along with intelligent navigation systems that provide centimeter‑level obstacle recognition, significantly enhancing safety and efficiency for port operations in Xiamen.
