The "Shanghai Jiushi," which entered service on the Huangpu River in September 2023, is the first pure electric sightseeing vessel on Shanghai‘s iconic waterway, marking a historic milestone in the city’s green transition and fully initiating the zero‑carbon upgrade of Huangpu River cruise ships. With a total length of 41 meters, a beam of 11.7 meters, a three‑deck design, and a passenger capacity of 150, the “Shanghai Jiushi” features a distinctive diamond‑faceted carbon fiber exterior and a glass curtain‑wall design. CATL‘s battery solution, which supports a cruising range of 5 ‑ 6 hours, plays a central role in enabling this benchmark project. As the first all‑electric sightseeing ship on the Huangpu River, the “Shanghai Jiushi” sets a replicable model for the electrification of inland waterway passenger vessels and acts as a flagship demonstration of Shanghai’s “green, low‑carbon, and zero‑emission” vision for its waterfront.
