Shandong Jining Ganghang 6006 Pure Battery Powered Cargo Vessel
The Jining "6006" pure electric cargo vessel has been recognized as a nationally exemplary case of transportation and energy integration development. It represents China's first fully delivered and independently operated vessel-station integrated battery-swapping demonstration project for cargo ships, providing a replicable model for the green transformation of inland waterway shipping nationwide.
Owned and operated by the CATL-Jining Energy joint venture, the vessel fully integrates CATL's full-scenario technical solutions across ship, shore, and cloud platforms. With a length of 67.6 meters, a beam of 12.66 meters, and a loading capacity of nearly 2,000 tons, the vessel is equipped with two containerized LFP power units with a total capacity of 3,919 kWh. Operating between Liangshan Port and Longgong Port along the Beijing-Hangzhou Grand Canal, it achieves a range of 230 km on a full charge, supports 15-minute fast battery swapping, and maintains zero-carbon operation.
By driving the formation of the local green shipping industry chain and the establishment of a new energy logistics system, the "Jining 6006" is positioned as a key demonstration project for ship electrification. This model aims to provide a clear path for the green transformation of China's inland waterways and to guide the industry into a new phase of large-scale, networked development.
